Safety

Passenger safety is our priority in developing escalators and moving walkways. However, passengers and operators of these systems should take a few notes into account so that the ride will always be a pleasure.

General

Escalators and moving walkways are exclusively designed to transport people. Animals may only be transported when carried by people

These systems are not intended to transport anything else – especially animals and loads of any description

Wheelchairs, childrenīs prams, people wearing inline skates, etc. must not be transported on escalators and moving walkways

The transportation of loads is permitted neither when the conveyor bands are in motion nor when stationary. Under no circumstances must items like scaffolding or ladders be placed on the steps or pallets

Escalators and moving walkways must not be operated if they have any faults (electrical and/or mechanical). A visual inspection must therefore be undertaken at least once a day to examine whether steps, pallets, combs, handrails, balustrades, displays or safety devices are defect or have been removed

Any modification to the escalators or moving walkways may only be undertaken on approval by ThyssenKrupp Fahrtreppen. This ensures that the safety of users and others is not endangered

The escalator / moving walkway and its surrounding area must be adequately and appropriately lit, particularly in the vicinity of the entrance and exit areas

Playing on escalators and moving walkways is prohibited
